Nevertheless, the doctors constantly alarm that smoking malfunction.
What is more, it destroys the grey-cells in human brain and slows down remembering, that apart of heavy smokers, the so-called passive smokers are equally susceptible to such iseases. That's why, in many parts of the world smoking was banned in restaurants and other public places. Some countries, such as Poland have undertaken actions to disallow the advertising of cigarettes on TV or billboards. The idea behind it is to make people smoke less and realize that it is an unhealthy addiction which they should give up. Every year the tobacco companies earn millions from the selling of cigarettes and every five minutes a person dies from a smoking-related disease. Over the years, smoking has become one of the most serious addictions, not only among adults, but also, what is worse, among teenagers, regardless of the fact that selling cigarettes to people under 18 is forbidden in many countries. Yet, most of the smokers believe that cigarettes help them deal with everyday problems and get over stressful situations. The majority of young people take up smoking because they think it is fashionable and makes them more adult-like. Sometimes it is also a result of the pressure put on them by their friends or it is simply a matter of curiosity- how does it feel and how does it taste. What can be done about that? People should be informed about the consequences of smoking already in early age and think twice before they take it up.
